Take A Break Overview

Your favourite magazine now has their very own online bingo site. Take a Break Bingo doesn’t offer the best in sign up and deposit bonuses but it is a very friendly site and they offer plenty of free and cheap bingo. Sign up today and try it out for yourself and don’t forget to check out the latest gossip in their online magazine.

Signing Up

It doesn’t take long to register at Take a Break Bingo, all you need to do is enter some of your basic details such as your address. You don’t need to enter your credit/debit card details straightaway but when you do it will save your details so you won’t have to keep entering them when you want to deposit.

When you sign up and deposit just £10 you will receive a 100% deposit bonus up to the value of £250.

Homepage

Take a Break Bingo’s homepage is a bit tacky and looks like it still need work done on it, the colour scheme is pretty awful. Having said that it is a very easy site to navigate. The best thing about Take a Break Bingo’s homepage is the fact that you can actually read their weekly magazine online whilst playing bingo.

Playing Take A Break Bingo

Take a Break Bingo have a choice of 4 bingo rooms to choose from which isn’t much compared to some other Virtue Fusion site which offer double that. The Bingo Lobby is actually quite funky compared to the homepage and is nice to look at.

Chat is friendly and you are made to feel welcome to the site from both the CM’s and other bingo players. This also makes it easier to make yourself some new friends.

Take a Break Bingo offer both 90 Ball and 75 Ball bingo and bingo tickets are very cheap with plenty of BOGOF bingo and penny bingo on offer. Obviously these bingo rooms get very busy so you are unlikely to win much but there will be plenty of friendly chat and chat games to keep you entertained.

Take a Break Bingo offer lots of different scratch card games and slots to keep you entertained.

Our Verdict

Take a Break Bingo doesn’t offer the best in sign up and deposit bonuses. With friendly chat and plenty of cheap bingo games it makes it worth trying out. Sign up today and have a go. Don’t forget to read the latest gossip on their website too!

Priceless Bingo Overview

Priceless Bingo is a nice site to use and is well designed for easy navigation. Sign up to Priceless Bingo and receive £10 totally free to try the site out with. If you choose to deposit you will receive 200% on your first three deposits and up to 250% on any subsequent deposits.

Signing Up

Signing up to Priceless Bingo is really simple and easy and won’t even take you 2 minutes. Simply choose yourself an alias and a password and enter your email address and you are done. Please be sure to enter your email address correctly as you won’t be able to get your free money without verifying your account.

When you go to deposit you will need enter your address and credit/debit card details. This again should only take you a couple of minutes and when you deposit just £10 you will receive 200% on your first three deposits. Even after your first three deposits you will still receive up to a 250% bonus. Yes… we are a little confused as to why you can get a better deposit bonus on your 4th deposit too! You do however have to deposit over £100 to get the 250%.

Homepage

The Priceless Bingo homepage is really funky and has a great colour scheme. The site is really simple to navigate and nice to use. Priceless Bingo does well in promoting their promotions without over facing the user. As Priceless Bingo is a new website they don’t run many promotions but always check it out and you never know what may be around!

Playing Priceless Bingo

Priceless Bingo doesn’t offer many bingo rooms with only 3 with only one or two open at some times. They do offer plenty of slot machines and instant games though.

The chat is fairly friendly and the CM’s are helpful if you are having any problems with your account although if they can’t sort out your problems they will direct you to someone that can.

When playing bingo is you are lucky enough to get down to 1tg but not lucky enough to win you will still receive a small cash prize.

Tickets weren’t overly cheap and most of the time they were about 10p each which soon builds up when you are buying your tickets.

Our Verdict

Priceless Bingo is ok and they do offer some good sign up bonuses but that’s about it. It is a very quiet site so if that is what you are after then you should give it a try. CM’s are friendly and other players are nice to talk to.

Game On Bingo Overview

Game On Bingo is a brand new bingo site from Littlewoods gaming, powered by software belonging to Brigend limited. We are the first Bingo site to review Game On Bingo so continue reading to find out what we thought of this interesting site.

Signing Up

Signing up is very easy to do just click on “Join Now” fill in one form, this includes entering your address and credit/debit card details straight away but no money will be taken out of your bank account before using the cashier.

Once you have signed up you are taken to your personal account page where you can deposit into your account and look at your past gaming such as which bingo rooms you have played in and what you spent in those rooms.

There is no free money when you register but you do get 20 free bingo cards and when you deposit you get a match deposit bonus up to £100. When you deposit a second time or more you get a 50% match.

Homepage

The homepage is very basic and doesn’t really have a theme to it. As it is a very blue site which does make a change to the usual pink. It is very easy to find your way around the site with the menu bar across the top and the bottom of the homepage. With a 3 step sign-up guide, some slot machines adverts and their latest promotions it gives you something to look at on the homepage but not much to act on.

Playing Game On Bingo

The bingo lobby is fun, very colourful and eye catching. It lists all 6 bingo room and if any of the bingo rooms aren’t open it tells you the opening and closing times. On the link for each room it also tells you what time the next game is so you don’t have to wait around.

There are plenty of slot machines and instant games to play on to keep you occupied and you can also play these whilst playing bingo.

The software for Game On Bingo is great it is very easy to use. Buying your bingo tickets is very easy just click on the ones you want and press buy or you can use the button buy max. When buying your tickets you can also switch the strips if you don’t like the ones that given to you originally, which is a nice touch if you have your fave numbers.

The bingo tickets could be very expensive at up to £1 tickets at nearly 3pm in the afternoon and there were not many players about at the time either. The lowest price for tickets I saw was 5p each.

The chat was very friendly and helpful and any questions I had were answered quickly. All the players were very friendly and spurring each other on. Although why one had to shout out he had sex on a beach in Greece is beyond me although everyone took it in their stride and joked around saying at least it wasn’t Dubai. I guess it takes all types!

Our verdict

This bingo site is very new and still has a long way to go to catch the others up. With great software running the actual bingo the site could be amazing but is let down hugely by a out of date and slightly confusing website. The chat is friendly and helpful and it really is a fun place to play.

Game On Bingo could do with lowering their ticket prices a little bit and some of the promotions seem amazing but when you try and work out exactly what they are there is nothing that actually tells you. Is it just me that doesn’t know exactly what a £1m coverall is? So some things just feel not quite right. Generally though, it is definitely worth depositing a tenner or so and having a go for yourself.

Jackpotjoy Overview

Jackpotjoy are 2009 winner of the bingo site of the year award. With thousands of players everyday its no wonder they won with all those people voting for them.

With both 75 and 90 ball bingo and thousands to be won everyday why not go sign up and try it for yourself. Plus you get a great sign up bonus.

Signing up

Signing up to Jackpotjoy was quick and easy, you just need to come up with a screen name and enter your personal details such as email, address and credit/debit card details. It is very easy to deposit some money into your account on Jackpot Joy as they save your credit cards details, you just need to enter how much you want to deposit and you’re done.

Homepage

When you first go to Jackpotjoy you are taken to a starting page where you can click on Join or Play. The main homepage doesn’t have much of a theme to do it and is quite bland compared to a lot of the other bingo sites out there. There are long lists of games and different big halls which can make it look a little bit daunting at first.

Playing Jackpotjoy

Playing Bingo on Jackpotjoy was good fun. Buying the tickets was very straight forward you could either click on the ones you wanted or use the bar on the left hand side to bulk buy.

The tickets we very cheap at 1p each. The tickets for the 75ball bingo were a quite a bit more expensive at 25p each.

The chat was great in the bingo rooms, everyone was helpful and friendly and it’s a great place to make new friends. There was also a player list above the chat box so you could see who was chatting in that room.

Whilst playing bingo or waiting for the next bingo game to start you could play some mini games at the bottom of the interface, these could be quite expensive and there wasn’t really a great selection of them to play on.

Our Verdict

If you like a good chat and a game of bingo and a bit of gamble on the slot machines then this is a great place to play bingo.

The homepage could do with a bit of updating as there’s not much “joy” to it. I think if they brought a bit more of a theme to do it and made the homepage easier to read and use it could be a lot better.

The bingo caller could be a little annoying but there is an on/off button for the sound on the interface. Also it seemed to play some background tunes whilst waiting for the next game which was also fairly annoying but, again you can turn this off in the preferences section.

Minxy Bingo Overview

Minxy Bingo is yet another bingo site powered by Virtue Fusion so I found it easy to use. Minxy Bingo attracts a lot of players, I saw it as high as 600 players in one room. It has everything you could want from a bingo site including great games of bingo, high jackpots on the slot machines and fun chat games.

Signing Up

Signing up is easy to do with just one registration form to fill out. It also saves your address so you don’t have to fill it out again when putting in your credit card details. When you have signed up and made your first deposit, your free £20 will automatically be paid into your bonus balance.

After Signing up a pop up page will appear confirming your email and username and thanking you for signing up to Minxy Bingo.

Homepage

The homepage is fairly simple with a usual pink and purple theme. The website is very easy to navigate as it is not at all cluttered. There are the general navigation tabs around such as promotions and support and a list of the latest big winners.

Playing Minxy Bingo

Playing on Minxy Bingo can turn out to be very cheap if you go online at the right time as prices can start as low as 1p per ticket. With huge jackpots to be won everyday it makes playing at Minxy Bingo worthwhile.

When I was playing at Minxy Bingo there was no sign of any chat moderators which I felt let it down a little bit.

Buying the bingo tickets was very simple just click on the plus sign and add as many tickets as you want. You also have the option to bulk buy so you have you tickets ready for when you come online later in the day.

Whilst playing bingo or waiting for the next bingo game you keep yourself entertained by playing on the scratch cards or slot machines with more chances of winning huge jackpots.

Our Verdict

Unfortunatly the lack of chat moderators made the site a little bit of a let down. Otherwise the site was very easy to use and it has a very nice design to it, making it easy to navigate.

They have a wide selection of chat games, slot machines etc which means you will never get bored playing at Minxy Bingo. If you are looking for a new bingo site to play on then you should definitely give Minxy Bingo a try.

The bingo caller was fairly relaxed compared to some so it wasn’t annoying and I didn’t feel the need to mute the sound.

1776Bingo offers brilliant games of 75 ball bingo with great added bonuses to help us players. I still reckon that its homepage is a bit muddling, but it didn't stop me from having a great time at 1776.

1776Bingo Overview

1776: the year of the American Revolution, but also the name of a popular US bingo site! 1776Bingo offers 75 ball bingo as well as a variety of online games such as Keno and Slots.

Signing Up

Registration doesn’t take long at 1776, and is complete when you activate your account through your email. You can play bingo at 1776 right away without depositing just yet, as you’ll receive a $5 welcome offer in the form of BBs. After the great first deposit bonus of 200%, there aren’t any more for further deposits, so you ought to think twice before just depositing the minimum $25.

Homepage

The homepage isn’t the easiest to navigate, but it was simple enough. I found it quite annoying that whenever I logged on a pop-up told me about a $1,000 promotion that took place a week ago. By digging deeper into their promotions vault, it transpired that the promotion takes place every Thursday – surely they could’ve changed the date?

Some areas of the site weren’t easily accessible or had been put into the wrong category. ‘Recipes’ and ‘Celebrity News’ probably don’t belong with promotions, but they are empty anyway. You can find out about the friendly CHs in the ‘chat’ section as well as browse through a gallery of other players. 1776 have a live help service, but you can also get in touch by email or telephone.

Playing 1776Bingo

1776 advertise offering 90 ball bingo on their homepage, which isn’t anywhere to be found. Most players won’t find this too annoying, as 75 ball bingo is much more popular in the US. There are 5 bingo rooms although they aren’t all always open at once. Before you worry about finding dime bingo, you can test out the 1776 games with your $5 bonus.

The Parlay software is world class, meaning that games are quick and smooth. The bingo interface is well laid out and it is very easy to buy bingo tickets and play. The chat is friendly and the chat hosts are helpful. Whether it’s telling someone to turn caps lock off or starting a chat game, they are there to ensure that you have a great environment to play in. If you fancy a change, there is a wide range of side games which you can choose from the navigation bar at the top of the bingo interface.I have never played Keno before, but it really is great fun!

Our Verdict

1776Bingo offers brilliant games of 75 ball bingo with great added bonuses to help us players. I still reckon that its homepage is a bit muddling, but it didn’t stop me from having a great time at 1776.

Sun Bingo is a well designed site that it very easy to get around around. It has a great range of 90 ball bingo games but there's only one 75 ball room. Even though I like the site, it is let down by a poor range of bonuses and lacks any side games.

Sun Bingo Overview

Sun Bingo was established in January 2006 and offers 90, 80 and 75 ball bingo games. It has emerged as one of the most popular UK bingo sites, helped by the newspaper’s status as the second highest in circulation.

Signing Up

Signing up in quick with Sun Bingo. All they need is a username, password, address and date of birth and then your account will be created. You are then taken straight to the Deposit Funds page – OK I get the hint! Sun Bingo try to aid the depositing process by offering you a 100% deposit bonus up to £100 and the reassurance that the transaction will by processed by the Royal Bank of Scotland, one of the banks recently bailed out by the government.

Homepage

Sun Bingo tell you on their website that they offer ‘the best online bingo bonuses and promotions’; a claim which doesn’t stand up when you compare the site to others on Bingo News. The only bonus available is the 100% first deposit bonus, but many other sites have no deposit bonuses and extra deposit bonuses. Sun Bingo only had 1 festive promotion, no continuous promotions but still had their Bingo Scoreboard promotion up on their site 2 weeks after it had finished.

As well as finding out bout big winners, you can also check out the chat hosts. The help section covers most FAQs but I still find it disappointing that there is no online live help feature. Still, you can always call their freephone helpline.

Playing Sun Bingo

Remember that you don’t have to make a deposit to check out the bingo interface. Sun Bingo games are powered by Gamesys, who also supply the software for Jackpotjoy. The games run very well and as well as a great variety of bingo games, Sun Bingo offer you a huge choice of chat rooms.

The bingo interface is well styled and I found it easy to switch between games via the lobby. Deposit and withdraw buttons are close at hand, but a great let-down of Sun Bingo is its lack of side-games. I know that I’m not alone in giving the Clover Rollover a shot, and I love discovering new games such as Top Trumps at Paddy Power. Hopefully it won’t be too long before Sun Bingo introduce them into their bingo games, as they have already shown that they can compete at the top level with their recent £250K house promotion. The 90 ball jackpot only stood at £1,724 so I assume that it was recently won. Winners must bingo in 40 calls or less, which gives marginally better odds than other sites.

Our Verdict

Sun Bingo is a well designed site that it very easy to get around around. It has a great range of 90 ball bingo games but there’s only one 75 ball room. Even though I like the site, it is let down by a poor range of bonuses and lacks any side games.

Chit Chat Bingo is a well-designed a site that runs several great monthly promotions. Even thought the chat wasn't all that that it was cracked up to be, the games were fairly decent.

Chit Chat Bingo Overview

Chit Chat Bingo roomies are famed for their chat, not that surprising given the site’s domain name. Bingo players looking for [their] ‘kind of people’ head over to Chit Chat Bingo to play 90 ball bingo games and meet new roomies.

Signing Up

Signing up doesn’t take long at all, and you don’t need to supply your payment details in order to gain the £1 bonus. Once you’ve sampled some of the bingo action at Chit Chat, you’ll soon be depositing! The minimum deposit is £10, but remember that it will double up once it has gone through. Thus I found myself with £20 in my account, ready to play and chat with new roomies.

Homepage

The homepage is very pretty indeed, styled in a sharp purple and orange colour scheme. The homepage features the latest jackpots and best promotions, but there is plenty to explore at Chit Chat Bingo using the left hand side navigation bar. Find out about the loyalty scheme or even install Chit Chat Bingo alerts on your desktop so you never miss a trick. The community page is fairly standard, but does include a leaderboard and horoscopes.

Playing Chit Chat Bingo

As with most sites powered by St Minver, the Chit Chat Bingo interface is well styled and a joy to play. There are a couple of chat rooms in each bingo game, but you’ll probably find that players amass in just one. The chat was friendly, as you’d expect, if not a bit basic. That was my general experience, and I did spend several hours playing through my £20. If you aren’t a fan of chat games, you’ll find that the game ‘Hammer the House’ swamps all possible chat, very annoying indeed.

Again, the jackpots are huge, each bingo player has a different take on these progressive jackpots. Some will cling on to the minuscule chance that they’ll bingo in 37 calls or less, whilst others such as myself, will be happy enough with a one line victory.

Our Verdict

Chit Chat Bingo is a well-designed a site that runs several great monthly promotions. Even thought the chat wasn’t all that that it was cracked up to be, the games were fairly decent.

The games, jackpots and bonuses are all great, but 123 Bingo is let down by its chaotic homepage.

123Bingo Overview

123Bingo.com has changed to 123bingoonline.com but it’s still the same site with great offers. The domain name was changed due to a technical error, which thankfully seems to have been resolved. Today it continues to attract loads of players and offers a great 300% bonus on your first deposit.

Signing Up

Signing up is easy enough. After you choose an alias and password you just need to give your address details in order to create your account. Once you’ve done that, you can apply for your $25 no-deposit bonus by going to Live Help, where you must give you name, address, phone number and email address. Once they have verified that you are a genuine player, you are ready to play.

Homepage

The homepage isn’t well laid out, and is I found it difficult to navigate. There are various links and tabs down the 2 sides, as well as at the top and bottom of the page. Most players seem not to worry as they go straight to the bingo interface, but I like to have a look around. Not many sites have a ‘recipe section’ but I feel that 123 bingo could do a lot more with it, as it only contains a handful of recipes. On the plus side there is a forum and an efficient live help service.

The worst aspect of the site is how is changes color and design as soon as you log in. You are confronted with a lot of pink, but at least the links are concisely displayed on the left.

Playing 123Bingo

The Parlay software works well, and the games are very smooth and easy to play. The free $25 gives you plenty of opportunities to try out the games, but you will certainly like them. The CHs were very helpful (especially Shelly) and run chat games for depositing players. My only criticism of the bingo games is that each number takes an astonishing 5 seconds to be called.

Bingo progressive jackpots are only available at certain times of the day, but can reach up to $10,000. You can launch slot or video poker games from the bingo interface – slot jackpots can attain an amazing $100,000.

Our Verdict

The games, jackpots and bonuses are all great, but 123 Bingo is let down by its chaotic homepage.

Bingo Day Overview

Bingo Day is another one of the UK’s few downloadable bingo sites. Their website is very blue which makes a difference from the usual pink theme bingo sites. Bingo Day have some of the highest payouts with up to £500,000 paid out daily.

Signing Up

Because Bingo Day is a download bingo site it does take a little bit longer to sign up but I didn’t find it to be too bad. When you have downloaded the bingo software you have all the usual forms to fill out with your name and date of birth etc. Once you have submitted that you will be given an 11 digit number/letter combination which you will need to write down as it is not emailed to you.

One of the only problems I encountered when signing up was when choosing a player name. You have to write it in a small black box and you can not see what you are writing and have to highlight it, to check it is right.

Once you have signed up you can enter your credit/debit card details to deposit into your account. When doing this a small chat window will pop up where you will be given a personal welcome message. You can ask for help if you are having any difficulty in depositing into your account.

When you sign up they do have a very good bonus offer of up to £200 free. I deposited £10 and got £20 free which I think is a very good deal and not many bingo sites offer that.

Homepage

The homepage has been very nicely laid out and isn’t too busy, therefore is quite easy to use. Bingo Day have a game schedule on their homepage and a list of the latest big winners which is a nice touch.

Playing Bingo Day

I was playing bingo in their Velvet Lounge at half past four and their tickets were only 2p each, they also had an offer of buy five get one free.

With only three 90 Ball bingo and one 75 Ball bingo room there wasn’t much choice of which room to play in but with slots, scratch cards and poker rooms there is enough to keep you happy for a few hours.

Sometimes when going back to the lobby the page could be a little slow reloading.

I found it quite difficult to find the chat box as the tiny button is quite hard to see. The chat moderators were very friendly and helpful with any problems.

Our Verdict

Although they could do with adding a couple more bingo rooms, It is a great place to play bingo. With friendly chat and cheap bingo tickets we do think that Bingo Day is a reasonable place to play bingo and you could do a lot worse!

William Hill Bingo has been brilliantly designed, offering a huge range of bingo games at all hours of the day. Extensive monthly promotions certainly compensate for the lack of deposit bonuses.

William Hill Bingo Overview

William Hill is a bookmaking giant, which was born in 1934. ‘Hills’ have betting shops all over Britain and have recently targeted Spain, so their bingo venture was only a matter of time. William Hill Bingo was launched in early 2007, and has since become one of the most popular bingo sites in the UK.

Homepage

The homepage is quite simply stunning. Pastel colours, clear text and concise layout means that the bingo player feels right at ease when they first encounter the William Hill Goliath. The bingo schedule gives you an idea of what games are on the go, without having to open up the Virtue Fusion bingo interface. William Hill obviously have all the usual tabs such as promotions, winners and jackpots, but their community page is well worth a look. They are one of the few sites that puts a photo to the CMs face, so you really are ‘meeting the CMs.

There are plenty of monthly promotions to get stuck into, whereas other sites may have only 1 or 2. When I first played they were donating 10% from various games to Breast Cancer Care, which I think is a tremendous effort.

Signing Up

Signing up with William Hill takes no time at all – that’s assuming that you don’t already have an online sports betting account with them. You simply fill in all the usual sections, which give you the option to change currency or impose a deposit limit. Once your account has been created you are ready to deposit! Small stakes players, like myself, will welcome the small £2 minimum deposit, which you can play through to test out the site.

Although William Hill don’t offer any standard deposit bonuses, they’ll credit you with a tenner if you play through £10 on bingo within 48 hours. There are definitely better bonuses elsewhere, but William Hill make up for them with other promos.

Playing William Hill Bingo

The bingo games all run on the Virtue Fusion software, which is probably my favourite. You cannot really beat William Hill in terms of players and variety of bingo games, and you are bound to find a game that suits you. The 4:30 free bingo game suited me fine, as it did the other 230 players. The odds were firmly stacked against me scooping the £35, but I was still left disappointed with 1TG.

The chat was fine in every room I visited, and trust me, I visited plenty of rooms. Rather mistakenly, I thought I was due my first Joker Jackpot win, but the top prize eluded me again. Speed Bingo is always a good laugh, but I fear it may be too quick for me. The numbers are called so quickly that it’s difficult to work out where you stand in terms of winning a prize. Although I guess that’s half the fun of it.

The William Hill bingo interface is well-styled and has excellent graphics. Deposits and withdrawals are super quick to process, and the wonderful mini-games saw me attempt the Clover Rollover and even a bit of virtual greyhounds. As with other large UK bookmakers, you can use your bingo wallet in the casino, to play poker or to have a cheeky punt.

Our Verdict

William Hill Bingo has been brilliantly designed, offering a huge range of bingo games at all hours of the day. Extensive monthly promotions certainly compensate for the lack of deposit bonuses.

Bingo.com Overview

Bingo.com has had a bit of a change around and have moved from Chartwell to Cozy Games software, although in essence not much has changed with new players still getting £15 totally free for signing up. One addition though is that they have put the second deposit bonus up from 101% to 250%. Bingo.com was once aimed at the US Bingo market but is now aimed at Europe.

Signing Up

Signing up to Bingo.com is really simple and easy with new players only needing to enter their email address and date of birth. It’s as simple as that, and when you sign up to Bingo.com you will receive £15 totally free. Not very many sites offer a sign up bonus as generous as that.

Depositing funds is easy and well worth it for the 250% deposit bonus. The great thing about bingo.com is that they don’t place any restrictions on your bonus money, so you are entitled to any subsequent winnings – obviously you can’t just withdraw the deposit bonus into your bank account!

Homepage

Bingo.com homepage has changed since their software upgrade but I think they could still make it look better than it does. They don’t have as much text on the site as they used to, making it easier to look at and navigate. If you can get past the homepage this is a site that you may very well enjoy.

Playing Bingo.com

Bingo.com now has a bingo lobby which they didn’t have before and offer a choice of many bingo rooms including 90, 80 and 75 ball bingo.

The bingo software has got a lot quicker when loading up, and it’s stunning. The no deposit bonus gives you plenty of opportunities to try out the software, and after what I had seen, I was happy to deposit.

Bingo.com used to run 75 ball bingo 24/7, but now it’s confined to evenings. 80 ball bingo has been more popular, and had quite a few players. I don’t know of any other bingo sites where you can change the font in chat.

Our Verdict

Bingo.com has actually got a lot better since changing to Cozy Games, having implemented a lobby and adding even more to their deposit bonuses. All they need to do is update the homepage and they’ve got a great bingo site on their hands! As of course they do have the perfect web site address!

Mecca Bingo is one of the top bingo sites around, and they have used their expertise gained from bingo halls to develop a very popular site. Bingo News recommend this site for its cracking variety of games and monster jackpots.

Mecca Bingo Overview

Mecca Bingo is a member of the Rank Group, the same people who run Blue Square and Grosvenor Casinos. Meccabingo.com is an extension of the Mecca Bingo Halls, which we have come to love in most major towns in Britain. As you’d expect from a famous brand, Mecca Bingo is one of the most popular bingo sites on the net, and it uses Virtue Fusion software.

Signing Up

If you are already a member at a Mecca Bingo Club, you can use your club ID to quickly sign in. I was new to Mecca Bingo, but it didn’t take too long to sign up. The only drawbacks were that you have enter you credit card details to open an account and they don’t offer you a no-deposit bonus.

Making your first deposit is a doddle, as you’ve already given Mecca your card details. Remember that Mecca Bingo also allow you to use alternative payment methods, such as Ukash. Bear in mind that if you are using a debit card, you’ll need to enter in your passport or driving license details to confirm your age. You can deposit as little as £5, but why not emulate me in depositing a tenner in order to receive the bonus. You’ll get the bonus credited to your account once you’ve played through your initial deposit on bingo games.

Homepage

The Mecca Bingo homepage has a funky feel to it, with angled fonts and over-sized bold text. It is very easy to find your way around Mecca, and you can find out about the current promotions or meet the CMs. Not many sites have Bingo jokes, although admittedly Mecca don’t have many at the moment. Although Mecca Bingo have separate section for winners, promotions and news, I feel that Mecca Bingo blog would go down very well, given the appeal of others.

As I have only recently moved to London, I was thrilled to find out that there’s a Mecca Bingo hall only 2 miles from my new home. You can locate your nearest Bingo Hall by simply entering your post code – it couldn’t be easier.

Playing Mecca Bingo

You only have to look at the Bingo News monitor to see how popular Mecca Bingo is – over 600 players when I first played on a weekday afternoon. When you first visit the Mecca lobby you’ll realise why; there are 12 different bingo rooms, each offering various bingo games for different stakes. That means that you can always find cheap games, especially useful if you prefer playing with 5p or 1p cards.

The chat was very friendly in every bingo room that I entered, with the CMs all contributing to the gossip. Check out the Mecca Bingo forums, because the ‘General Discussion’ sub-forum has thousands of posts.

Mecca also offer Speed Bingo, in the ‘Turbo 90′ room. Obviously the chat isn’t as good as other rooms, because the game is much more frenetic, and reaches its conclusion in about a minute! I won a small prize for getting one line, and I was very impressed that it was instantly credited to my account straight after the game. As well as 80 ball bingo, there is Joker Jackpot and the usual range of Virtue Fusion mini-games.

Our Verdict

Mecca Bingo is one of the top bingo sites around, and they have used their expertise gained from bingo halls to develop a very popular site. Bingo News recommend this site for its cracking variety of games and monster jackpots.

Love Bingo Overview

Love Bingo is powered by St Minver software and ‘aims to be the heart of online bingo’. It is one of the most innovative bingo sites around, and offers great promotions as well as an unique loyalty scheme.

Signing Up

Signing up with Love Bingo was very simple, and I was sent a confirmation email very soon after I had entered in my personal details. You need to click a link in the email which triggers your £1 bonus with Love Bingo. The next time you log in you’ll find that you are all set to play free bingo!

Unlike other bingo sites that have major restrictions on withdrawing winnings derived from bonus money, Love Bingo allow you to take home anything you win from your £1. As well as the no-deposit bonus, Love Bingo also offer a 100% deposit bonus. My first deposit of £10 was easy enough to accomplish, and there’s something very satisfying about seeing your balance read £20 when you know that you’ve only spent a tenner!

Homepage

The Love Bingo homepage more flashy than its competitors, but without being too loud and busy. From the homepage you can access the Love Bingo blog, which informs you about the latest happenings. As well as standard promotions and community tabs, Love Bingo offer a comprehensive FAQ section.

Playing Love Bingo

There are currently only two bingo rooms at Love Bingo, which isn’t necessarily a weakness. Its intimacy means much better chat and more interaction from the CMs. Even in games with over 70 people, the chat wasn’t flooded with the usual ’3TGs’. Instead players gossiped about cuppas, cold weather and the X Factor.

Again, Love Bingo only has 90 ball bingo, but through specialisation it has managed to create a better product for us, the consumer. The bingo console works well and is dressed in an elegant purple skin. Love Bingo also give you the choice of different chat rooms, which you may want to try if you are indeed looking for love! The current top jackpot stands at a staggering £23K, and the snowball jackpot is available to those who bingo in 50 calls or less.

The news that WagerWorks games, such as Monopoly, are now available on St Minver sites only furthers the case for depositing with Love Bingo.

Our Verdict

Whilst the list of permanent promotions may not be eye-watering, Love Bingo run some cracking seasonal promotions. I enjoyed the chat and games at Love Bingo, and it definitely stands out as the most innovative of the St Minver bingo sites.

Crown Bingo was established in 2005 and is without doubt the most welcoming bingo site of them all. Crown isn’t as gargantuan as the likes of Gala and Tombola, but they were still highly commended in the 2008 E Gaming Awards.

Signing Up

It didn’t take me too long to register, just enter your basic details such as your address and you are ready to go. You don’t even need to supply your credit card details in order to receive the free £1 bonus, so it is very easy to get started at Crown Bingo. The cashier is easy to use, especially once you have registered your card. For added security, Crown Bingo require you to enter in your password again when you visit the cashier.

Homepage

The Crown Bingo homepage is very easy on the eye and a joy to navigate. As well as the continuous promotions you can find out about seasonal ones. The community page informs you on the latest happenings and winners at Crown, whilst the Crown Bingo blog is a great read and regularly updated.

Playing Crown Bingo

The Virtue Fusion software is very slick, and features the full range of mini-games. I particularly like the bingo lobby, which is modelled on a reception. The welcome bonus of £1 isn’t as generous as other websites, but Crown bingo users are compensated with a wide variety of chat games. Crown have only recently introduced Joker Jackpot Bingo, which I would recommend as a great alternative to your standard 90 ball bingo.

I was satisfied enough with the bingo action that I got with my free £1 meaning I was happy to deposit with Crown Bingo. Even though I have several other depositing bingo accounts elsewhere, Crown Bingo is a site that I find myself returning to again and again.

Our Verdict

First and foremost what differentiates Crown Bingo from the crowd is its friendliness. CMs are helpful, the live chat help service was efficient and bingo players were very chatty. I witnessed terrific congratulatory messages, a lot of good luck and even someone who had rushed home from the dentist in order to play at Crown!

Party Bingo Overview

Party Bingo is run by Party Gaming, one of the leaders in the internet gaming industry. As well as offering no nonsense 90 and 75 ball bingo, Party Gaming is also world famous for its poker, as well as its casino and backgammon games.

Signing Up

Registering with Part Bingo was a breeze. Once you click to sign up, you are taken to the Party Bingo console, where you can easily create an account. I gt fed up with confirmation emails and the like, so when I had given Party Bingo a username, email and password, it came a relief to find that was the all it took. Once that’s complete, you are automatically logged in.

Homepage

From the Party Bingo homepage, you can access everything easily from winners to their newsletter. You can also find out about Party Bingo’s Refer a friend scheme, where you can get rewarded with Amazon vouchers or even a spa trip! Party Bingo run a number of seasonal promotions which we will tell you about on Bingo News, but you can also read about on their site. Party Bingo proudly sponsor Anne Keothavong, and you can read her Wimbledon diary in which she recounts her adventures at the All England Club.

Playing Party Bingo

The chat was very friendly, and I was made to feel at home when I introduced myself to my new roomies. The 75 ball bingo room was sparsely populated, as the majority of players were playing the cheap 90 ball games. There were about 100 players in the afternoon, not a bad amount for a relatively new bingo brand.

Party Bingo use their own software which is simple to use, and features the usual variety of slots and mini games. I haven’t seen instant bingo before, but I don’t really see the appeal of it. Why would you want to play bingo in a hurry? Most of the fun is anticipating numbers and chatting with roomies, which you can’t do on instant bingo.

During my time I won a small one line prize in 90 ball bingo, which was rapidly credited to my account.

Our Verdict

Some users may not feel comfortable with the minimum £25 deposit, but the money can be spent on other games at Party Gaming. The 100% deposit bonus should ease any financial concerns. Party Bingo is a good all round bingo site, although I feel it doesn’t quite do enough to differentiate itself from the crowd.

USA Bingo is one of the major players in the online bingo industry and is a terrific bingo site that merits its position as one of the leaders in the U.S. market. it is well designed, offers several juicy bonuses and has enough bingo rooms to get lost in.

USA Bingo Overview

USA Bingo is one of the major players in the online bingo industry, mainly because it established itself as one of the first brands to offer online bingo in the no download flash format. Since 2001, USA Bingo has gone from strength to strength and it now boasts over 14,000 active subscribers. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was true, given that they have 16 different bingo rooms, all teeming with activity 24/7.

Signing Up

Registering is incredibly easy, and can be completed in less than a minute. No need to give your address or card details like the UK websites; just username, email and password. Once signed up you are ready to play free bingo, although you must first make a deposit if you’d like to play for cash prizes. You will need to fill out your contact details before making a deposit. This didn’t take us long at all, and we were glad that USA Bingo offered a variety of deposit methods, as well as the potential to deposit as little as $10 in some cases.

Homepage

I liked the layout and design of the USA Bingo homepage, as well as the patriotic color scheme. The FAQ is fairly comprehensive, and should mean that you don’t have to ask any questions directly via the support section. If you need to do so, I’d recommend asking a CM in a bingo room, who will be very happy to help.

Playing USA Bingo

I started off by playing free bingo, which is a brilliant way to sample USA Bingo’s software, without having to worry about minimum deposits or deposit methods. There were plenty of players, including a friendly CM who offers plenty of moral support. It must have worked, as I won only my 2nd game of free bingo. I won a few bingo points, although I have to say that the victory was a little empty without any financial reward – I was ready to graduate to funded bingo games.

Speed Bingo runs in the afternoons and evenings, offering cheap thrills. Other bingo rooms all offer 75 ball bingo, although they each carry a different theme. From the ‘Las Vegas’ lounge to the ‘Desperate’ lounge, you can change your bingo environment at the click of a mouse, without having to sign up to other bingo websites. The chat was friendly and you have the option to play a number of mini games as well as bingo, such as slots, keno and blackjack.

Our Verdict

USA Bingo is a terrific bingo site that merits its position as one of the leaders in the U.S. market. it is well designed, offers several juicy bonuses and has enough bingo rooms to get lost in.

Our only qualms were the minimum deposit and the minimum cashout of $50. Hopefully neither will be problematic when we soon scoop a big win at Bingo Clásico!

Bingo Clásico Overview

Bingo Clásico is a member of the Bingoroom Network which uses 1gaming software. As the name suggests, it targets Spanish users, but it has proven equally popular with U.S. players. Bingo Clásico offers terrific deposit bonuses as well as a friendly community in which to interact.

Signing Up

Signing up with Bingo Clásico is amazingly easy, all you have to do is enter a username, password and email address on their homepage. Once you’ve done that you are automatically logged on and ready to play in just seconds. Deposits are easy enough with the eWalletXpress, meaning that you can deposit with just about any card or service. Once you have an eWalletXpress account you can also deposit easily at other U.S. Bingo sites. Although the site claims to accept direct deposit through your VISA or Mastercard, I could only deposit through eWalletXpress. I didn’t mind too much, as this meant I could receive an amazing deposit bonus of 150%, giving great value for money bingo.

One quick word about the $10 advertised sign up bonus – you must first make a deposit at Bingo Clásico before it gets added to your account.

Homepage

The homepage is well designed and easily navigable via the left hand side menu. In case you are directed to the Spanish version, you simply have to click the appropriate flag at the top to change language. As well as depositing and cashing out, you can also meet your friendly roomies and find out more about Bingo Clásico’s loyalty program.

Playing Bingo Clásico

As with other member of the Bingoroom Network, the games are fun and easy to use and also loads quickly. As well as your favorite 75 ball bingo bingo, you can also play 90 ball bingo with our UK friends. Personally, I’m undecided as to which bingo game I prefer, so it’s always a bonus if the site offers you both types. Jackpots come into play in the afternoons and evenings, although it has to be said that I haven’t even come close yet!

The chat was welcoming and I found the CM very helpful at answering my questions about the deposit bonuses. You can play mini-slots whilst you wait for your elusive bingo numbers to get called, or even try your luck an Video Poker.

Our Verdict

At Bingo News we do like this site – the bonuses and design meant that we didn’t have to think twice about depositing with them. Our only qualms were the minimum deposit and the minimum cashout of $50. Hopefully neither will be problematic when we soon scoop a big win at Bingo Clásico!

I highly recommend Ladbrokes Bingo to any player because of its wide range of games and numerous players. The only slight negative was the trouble I experienced signing up, although that needn't happen to you if you use a credit card.

Ladbrokes Bingo Overview

Ladbrokes are one of the leading British bookmakers, with over 2500 betting shops and taking over 10 million bets each week. Their bingo presence is almost as impressive, with hundreds of players choosing to play their games with ‘The Magic Sign’.

Signing Up

I found that it took me slightly longer to sign up with Ladbrokes than with other sites. As well as all the normal fields such as address and date of birth, you can impose a maximum limit for deposits.

I found the Ladbrokes site incredibly slow whilst I was trying to get started which was infuriating. Nevertheless I was eventually able to deposit a tenner in order to get the £20 – sadly there are no bonuses available to the non-depositors.

It took me a good half an hour to discover the problem, my account was suspended! That’s the problem with using your debit card. With no live help available on their site I had to phone Ladbrokes to confirm my age, and then send them photographic iD. They weren’t content with a passport, so I had to send an energy bill as proof of address. I suppose that’s it’s all for the best in the fight against fraud, but I have never had to go to such extensive measure simply to confirm my age.

Homepage

Accessing the bingo branch of Ladbrokes’ empire is very simple with tabs at the top to distinguish between the sportsbook, poker, casino, backgammon, lottery and financial betting. That may sound daunting, but once you reach the bingo homepage navigation is a doddle. The menu is down the left hand side, whilst there are large picture links to promotions and the all-important ‘play now’.

The bingo schedule is very handy, especially for those wanting to play the low-stakes games such as the 2p Speed Bingo. As well as a bingo dictionary customers can find out about the wonderful CMs with the factfiles.

Playing Ladbrokes Bingo

When I finally got playing Ladbrokes Bingo, I liked what I saw. Virtue Fusion software is definitely one of the best, so they were immediately in my good books. Ladbrokes also offer you the widest range of bingo games possible: 90,80 and 75 ball bingo as well as Joker Jackpot.

Ladbrokes also have a full range of side games and slots, including the Clover Rollover. I felt lucky, but it clearly wasn’t my day. I won’t hold it against Ladbrokes, but I was luckier at Gala! 80 ball bingo is a refreshing alternative in case you haven’t tried it yet, and is easy to pick up. I came very close to winning a Joker Jackpot prize, but I sadly wasn’t dealt the right card when it mattered.

Enough of my hard luck stories, back to the bingo product. The software was good, although it crashed once, and was slightly laggy in full screen. The chat in the Joker Jackpot room was non-existent – perhaps it attracts a different group of players? In the bingo rooms the chat was more entertaining in the cheap 75 ball games, as players discussed their favourite takeaway meals.

Our Verdict

I highly recommend Ladbrokes Bingo to any player because of its wide range of games and numerous players. The only slight negative was the trouble I experienced signing up, although that needn’t happen to you if you use a credit card.

Totesport Bingo Overview

Totesport Bingo started in September 2008, as is run by the legendary Tote. For those unfamiliar to sports betting, the Tote has hundreds of betting shops around Britain that offer fixed odds betting through its brand Totesport. The Tote organises betting into British track pools and there have been recent murmurings of a large scale takeover. We were keen to see how they would do at bingo, and whether they had made an impression within their opening few months.

Signing Up

Signing up was straight forward, which is what you’d expect from the brainchild of Winston Churchill. The address field is a doddle as all you need to do is input your postcode. After you enter in further contact details and the standard security question you are ready to deposit. Except I wasn’t because totesport needed to verify my age. I simply emailed them a copy of my passport and it was unlocked 2 hours later. Most bingo sites have a minimum deposit of £5, so totesport’s minimum of £10 is annoying, especially as I’ve had no chance to experiment with their product. Still, I suppose their 125% first deposit bonus isn’t too miserly.

Homepage

The homepage is easy on the eye and is given a playful touch with Channel 4 characters Barry and Toni. They usually hang out at various racecourses, but totesport have recruited them in their bingo drive. The ‘news’ section is empty and the ‘promotions’ tab takes you into the casino. I’m sure that these are just teething problems that totesport will sort out in the near future. ‘Bingo Basics’ includes a FAQ and bingo lingo sections – essential reading for any newbies.

Playing Totesport Bingo

The bingo took slightly longer than expected to load up, and also requires you to sign in again. Perhaps I am being trivial, but these things can put you in the wrong frame of mind. I was shocked to see that (a) there was only 1 bingo room and (b) there were only 4 players in the afternoon.

The bingo itself is shambolic. I found the bingo console hard to navigate, slow and generally just a nightmare. I played a 30p game but it turned out you had to buy 2 cards for a total of 60p. However, you get another card free when you purchase 2 – not a great deal. Once I had bought more cards than I wanted to I couldn’t even find the game which I had so boldly entered. I tried again, incurring another 60p hit on the balance, but in vain. How can I review bingo and chat when I can’t even find it? Worse, they are taking my money!

Another problem with this site is that instead of telling you how long it is before a bingo game starts, it tells you the starting time. Totesport are wildly assuming that your computer’s clock is set to exactly to tote time.

I emailed totesport to ask about withdrawing bonus money, but the reply I got was most unhelpful. As well as actually tinkering with their bingo product they may want to improve their help service. If I’m not made to feel at ease I’ll withdraw my balance at the drop of a hat.

Our Verdict

Suffice to say that my affair with Totesport Bingo did not last long – I didn’t manage to succesfully play a bingo game. We will review the site again in 2 months’ time to see if they have made any improvements.

Bingo Café Overview

Bingo Café is one of the UK’s only download bingo sites. Bingo Café offers a different view on bingo with a 3D world. Chat with other bingo buddy avatars and move from room to room. Bingo Café also offer some of the highest progressive slot payouts on the web.

Signing Up

Signing up to Bingo Café is a bit long winded and slightly confusing as you have to download it first. Once I worked this out and I actually downloaded the bingo, it was easy to fund my account. Simply click on “cashier” in the bottom left of your screen and it will bring up a few options for transferring money into your account.

You can also sign up to become a VIP. The VIP status is based on deposits, wagering, time spent in the site, and feedback from the CMs. Anyone who gets upgraded to the VIP status will be notified by email at the start of every month. If you become a VIP you get a lot of extra benefits such as up to 40% back on your purchases.

Homepage

The homepage of the website is a very American design and probably could do with a bit of updating. When you click on “see full website” it is a little better as it looks a bit more inviting with comments from real players and information about games. The design is still very cluttered and those of us used to most UK bingo websites could have problems with things even as simple as signing up.

Once you have downloaded the bingo and signed up your are taken to a 3D bingo lobby with your own avatar. From here all you have to do is click on the staircase so that your character move upstairs and choose to play bingo, slot machines, video poker or play in the casino.

Playing Bingo Café

If you like playing “Sims” you will love playing on Bingo Café. There is also a room with bingo slots called Mega Bingo. There’s a choice of 6 bingo rooms to play in, with huge jackpots and cheap tickets, so it’s a good place to play bingo. At 11.15am one of 90 ball bingo rooms had a £2874 jackpot and the tickets were 25p each.

Our Verdict

Even though the entire site needs a bit of updating and it is a bit a of a pain to sign up, it is a great place to play bingo. With a “Sims” like interface it makes it that bit more fun. The Cm’s and other players were very chatty and friendly.

Gala Bingo Overview

Gala Bingo is a household name when it comes to bingo. There are currently 175 Gala Bingo Clubs throughout the UK, which equates to about 24% of the market. Their online operation is incredible – with a sensational 1.2 million active players. Gala merged with Coral in 2005, meaning that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Signing Up

Players who have an account with Coral bookmakers can also use it to play at Gala. Otherwise, signing up is simple enough. Just enter your username, password and postcode and let Gala do the rest. You may find, that your username has already been taken, which is what happened to me. Gala will suggest you a new one, or you can go back to the drawing board yourself. Depositing a fiver was easy enough, although it automatically went into my ‘Lotto account’. Nevertheless I transferred it into bingo money with a few clicks of the mouse.

Homepage

I must admit that the homepage isn’t the cleanest and most innovative in the business. I have no qualms about the navigation – because tabs are all clearly presented down the left hand column. It was simply too flash and busy for my liking. However, you can find out about Gala Clubs near you and any other Gala promotions that are running at a particular time. As well as a radio campaign, Gala also have their own TV channel – Gala TV.

Gala TV is a bingo room that is only open during selected hours of the day – usually evening time. Gala TV before 6pm is automated, so I personally wouldn’t play Gala TV before then, even if Sharon Osbourne is calling the numbers. You can play using your remote control and heading over to Sky Channel 861. You can then log in with your Gala details, or sign up in case you haven’t already done so. It is worth noting that connected through your TV means that you will be charged at your local rate.

Alternatively, you can play Gala TV through your PC simply by choosing TV Bingo in the lobby. There is a television feed in the top right hand corner, broadcasting live games until 2am (real presenters included!). A great addition if you like your bingo to be live, but I’m fairly indifferent.

Playing Gala Bingo

At Gala Bingo you can earn 2 Nectar points for every £1 spent on bingo. Nectar points are of no use to me, so I took a look at other promotions. The £20 free play bonus when you deposit £5 is magnificent value – especially when you win twice in your first 2 games at Gala. Gala use their own software which is refreshing, as most other sites share software. This means that there are a number of different font colours to choose from and animated 3/2/1 TG symbols in chat.

The CMs and customer support were very prompt and helpful, as I tried to get to grips with their 1TG bonus. That’s right, Gala will pay you 50p if you lose the 1 line, 2 line of full house prize by just one number. Great news for players who count themselves as unlucky! The 50p consolation is only available once every 24 hours.

Gala have a plethora of bingo room, featuring 90,80 and 75 ball bingo. You may have thought that they wouldn’t have as many mini games as their competitors, but in fact, they rank as some of the best in the business. Whether it’s Deal or No Deal, Football Top Trumps or Virtual Horse Racing – Gala have something for everyone. Remember that you can also buy scratchcards and play all of your favourite progressive jackpot slot games at Gala – you get the full package. The chat was great, but we were more impressed with the Gala software.

Our Verdict

Gala Bingo ranks as on of the best sites we have reviewed. The great bonuses on offer, huge variety of side games and countless bingo rooms means that Gala is one of the best in the industry. Frankly you wouldn’t expect anything less from such an established brand.

Bingo Boudoir Overview

Bingo Boudoir is yet another site that uses the Cassava bingo software, so I found it very simple to use. In case you weren’t sure, a ‘boudoir’ is a lady’s private room, usually used for entertaining, pampering or dressing. It comes from the French ‘to pout’ – which you can do at will whilst playing 90 and 75 ball bingo!

Signing Up

Singing up was very easy, and required address and credit card details. They also save you from entering in your address and name again once you reach the credit card details section, which save crucial bingo time. One you have signed up, log in to Bingo Boudoir and then click ‘My Account’. From here you can click ‘Redeem points’, where you can exchange your 1000 points for £1 bingo money.

Bingo Boudoir advertise the no deposit bonus as 10 free bingo tickets, but there is nothing from stopping you buying 20 5p bingo tickets!

Homepage

Call me cynical, but I found very little ‘boudoir’ about this site. However, the pink pastel colours are easy on the eye (the same cannot be said for other sites!) and I found it easy to navigate. Like most sites, there are tabs at the top to switch between different sections of the site, such as ‘support’ and ‘winners’. I found it slightly concerning that they were still advertising a Guy Fawkes promotion a week after Bonfire Night.

Playing Bingo Boudoir

The £1 bonus does actually give you plenty of opportunities to try out the site, although it is extremely unlikely that you’ll hit that jackpot with so few tickets! That said on a game of 75 ball bingo with a £30 jackpot, I bought only one ticket and got a very good run for my money. I had 1TG (41) for an agonizing amount of time, during which both 40 and 42 appeared. Needless to say I didn’t win the jackpot.

It is worth remembering that there are several chat rooms within each game, and it is definitely worth shopping around for the best and most chatters. It is great that they have a help chat room within each game, as this means that you can get your queries answered whilst playing bingo. Despite hunting for some juicy gossip, I couldn’t find much to get excited about.

As well as the signing up bonus, Bingo Boudoir offer some other great promotions such as their £1million Coverall games. I witness a whole host of chat games taking place in the Boudoir, but you need to be a depositing member to participate.

Our Verdict

I enjoyed my time in the Boudoir, and found the help chat room very useful. There is a good variety of bingo games during the daytime and I would consider depositing to try my luck in the £1million coverall games which take place 3 times a week.

Tombola Bingo Overview

Tombola operates one of the largest bingo sites out there, mainly thanks to the fact they used to be The Sun’s bingo operator and kept all the customers when The Sun switched to using Jackpot Joy’s software. Now they’ve gone it alone but they’re still huge with as many as 10,000 players a day on their bingo site.

From talking to other players, Tombola is a bit of a Marmite bingo site – you either love it or hate it. It has a huge range of rooms to choose from and there’s always someone to chat to but the sheer number of players means it is hard to make friends with regular roomies as everyone is always moving around. Amazingly there are no slot games at all on the site, which is good as it stops me losing all my money on them but is a shame because I like playing them when I don’t feel like a game of bingo.

Signing up

When you play on the site for the first time the registration process is a bit confusing and long winded, especially if you don’t know anyone else who plays on the site or have a bonus code (I didn’t have either). After that it is simple; you are taken straight to a deposit screen where you can claim your cash match bonus on your first deposit, up to £25. Deposit methods are credit and debit cards only and there are no other payment options such as Paypal or UKash, which is a bit strange given how big the site is.

Tombola Bingo’s home page

Once registered you are taken to a home page full of information – it’s all a bit daunting and the tiny light blue text on a white background made it difficult to read about their latest promotions. But the main games are listed on the left hand side – these are 90, 80 and 75 ball bingo plus Bingo Lite, Cinco (basically bingo with cards), Battleships and Hamster Race. There is also currently a game called Carnival which you can play once a day for free and win up to £100.

Playing Tombola’s games

The actual games themselves are really well designed and easy to follow. Whoever has built this site has done a great job and because Tombola don’t run any other sites this is the only place to play them. You can always find a big jackpot room to play bingo in – I just found a game with 792 players and a full house jackpot of £480 for a 20p ticket at 11am! All the games have chat rooms and there are always plenty of people there, although I found the chat often didn’t have much depth to it with lots of 2tg and wdws but not much of people chatting about their lives. I guess that’s partly down to the CMing, which I thought was a bit low key. But perhaps that was just the games I played in.

Anyone who has seen their TV ad might have thought Tombola would be a bit odd – their ad is definitely one of the strangest bingo ads I have ever seen – but in fact it’s a great site.

Our verdict

At the moment they are offering tons of player promotions and added prize money in the rooms, partly to keep all the players from The Sun in their rooms rather than have them move over to the new site. That’s good for new players signing up and I’ll definitely be playing a lot more at Tombola in the next few months.

888Ladies Overview

888ladies is operated by the Cassava Enterprises, part of the famous 888 Holdings group. Not surprisingly, it is targeted at females, although I’m sure some men are lurking in the rooms! Like other themed bingo sites it has proven very popular, and has great graphics and software. A particular highlight of 888ladies are the coverall jackpots, which can get as high as £888,888.

Signing Up

Signing up is relatively quick and worthwhile to ensure you receive your £10 bonus money. However, I didn’t like the fact that you have to give them your card details, even if you have no intention of depositing. I suppose it is just a ploy to get customers to freely deposit once they have run out of bonus funds. I will not be returning to 888ladies, and don’t like it that they have my credit card details.

Homepage

The homepage is well laid out, and simple to navigate. Not surprisingly given the predominantly female clientele, it has a pink theme. Use the tabs at the top to find out about latest winners and promotions. Current promos included a Bonfire Night weekend break giveaway. I particularly liked the ‘Ladies Lounge’ where you can read your horoscope and articles about the CMs.

Playing 888Ladies Bingo

888ladies offer both 75 and 90 ball bingo, which are both popular amongst users of the site. 90 ball bingo can be played for as little as 5p, although as with all sites the ticket price soon creeps up. The CMs are welcoming and the chat was friendly enough, although I often found myself switching chat rooms in order to find the chatty players. The numbers on 90 ball bingo are called out with catchy feminine phrases such as, ’46, luscious lips’ or ’19, drama queen’. The applause after the full house victory is also a fine touch.

Our Verdict

888ladies certainly ranks as one of the better bingo sites out there. The software and design is flawless and with plently of players, there are some great jackpots. Perhpaps the chat was lacking in depth somewhat, especially given that it is a niche site targeting only women. Nevertheless a decent bingo site and one to consider depositing.
