This bingo site is very new and still has a long way to go to catch the others up. With great software running the actual bingo the site could be amazing but is let down hugely by a out of date and slightly confusing website. The chat is friendly and helpful and it really is a fun place to play.

Bingo Day is another one of the UK’s few downloadable bingo sites. Their website is very blue which makes a difference from the usual pink theme bingo sites. Bingo Day have some of the highest payouts with up to £500,000 paid out daily.

Because Bingo Day is a download bingo site it does take a little bit longer to sign up but I didn’t find it to be too bad. When you have downloaded the bingo software you have all the usual forms to fill out with your name and date of birth etc. Once you have submitted that you will be given an 11 digit number/letter combination which you will need to write down as it is not emailed to you.

One of the only problems I encountered when signing up was when choosing a player name. You have to write it in a small black box and you can not see what you are writing and have to highlight it, to check it is right.

Again, Love Bingo only has 90 ball bingo, but through specialisation it has managed to create a better product for us, the consumer. Whilst the list of permanent promotions may not be eye-watering, Love Bingo run some cracking seasonal promotions. I enjoyed the chat and games at Love Bingo, and it definitely stands out as the most innovative of the St Minver bingo sites.

Crown Bingo was established in 2005 and is without doubt the most welcoming bingo site of them all. Crown isn’t as gargantuan as the likes of Gala and Tombola, but they were still highly commended in the 2008 E Gaming Awards.

The chat was very friendly, and I was made to feel at home when I introduced myself to my new roomies. The 75 ball bingo room was sparsely populated, as the majority of players were playing the cheap 90 ball games. There were about 100 players in the afternoon, not a bad amount for a relatively new bingo brand.

Party Bingo use their own software which is simple to use, and features the usual variety of slots and mini games. I haven’t seen instant bingo before, but I don’t really see the appeal of it. Why would you want to play bingo in a hurry? Most of the fun is anticipating numbers and chatting with roomies, which you can’t do on instant bingo.

Some users may not feel comfortable with the minimum £25 deposit, but the money can be spent on other games at Party Gaming. The 100% deposit bonus should ease any financial concerns. Party Bingo is a good all round bingo site, although I feel it doesn’t quite do enough to differentiate itself from the crowd.

I started off by playing free bingo, which is a brilliant way to sample USA Bingo’s software, without having to worry about minimum deposits or deposit methods. There were plenty of players, including a friendly CM who offers plenty of moral support. It must have worked, as I won only my 2nd game of free bingo. I won a few bingo points, although I have to say that the victory was a little empty without any financial reward – I was ready to graduate to funded bingo games.

USA Bingo is a terrific bingo site that merits its position as one of the leaders in the U.S. market. it is well designed, offers several juicy bonuses and has enough bingo rooms to get lost in.

Bingo Clásico is a member of the Bingoroom Network which uses 1gaming software. As the name suggests, it targets Spanish users, but it has proven equally popular with U.S. players. Bingo Clásico offers terrific deposit bonuses as well as a friendly community in which to interact.

Signing up with Bingo Clásico is amazingly easy, all you have to do is enter a username, password and email address on their homepage. Once you’ve done that you are automatically logged on and ready to play in just seconds. Deposits are easy enough with the eWalletXpress, meaning that you can deposit with just about any card or service. Once you have an eWalletXpress account you can also deposit easily at other U.S. Bingo sites. Although the site claims to accept direct deposit through your VISA or Mastercard, I could only deposit through eWalletXpress. I didn’t mind too much, as this meant I could receive an amazing deposit bonus of 150%, giving great value for money bingo.

At Bingo News we do like this site – the bonuses and design meant that we didn’t have to think twice about depositing with them. Our only qualms were the minimum deposit and the minimum cashout of $50. Hopefully neither will be problematic when we soon scoop a big win at Bingo Clásico!

I found the Ladbrokes site incredibly slow whilst I was trying to get started which was infuriating. Nevertheless I was eventually able to deposit a tenner in order to get the £20 – sadly there are no bonuses available to the non-depositors.

It took me a good half an hour to discover the problem, my account was suspended! That’s the problem with using your debit card. With no live help available on their site I had to phone Ladbrokes to confirm my age, and then send them photographic iD. They weren’t content with a passport, so I had to send an energy bill as proof of address. Playing Ladbrokes Bingo

When I finally got playing Ladbrokes Bingo, I liked what I saw. Virtue Fusion software is definitely one of the best, so they were immediately in my good books. Ladbrokes also offer you the widest range of bingo games possible: 90,80 and 75 ball bingo as well as Joker Jackpot.

Ladbrokes also have a full range of side games and slots, including the Clover Rollover. I felt lucky, but it clearly wasn’t my day. I won’t hold it against Ladbrokes, but I was luckier at Gala! 80 ball bingo is a refreshing alternative in case you haven’t tried it yet, and is easy to pick up. I came very close to winning a Joker Jackpot prize, but I sadly wasn’t dealt the right card when it mattered.

Enough of my hard luck stories, back to the bingo product. The software was good, although it crashed once, and was slightly laggy in full screen. The chat in the Joker Jackpot room was non-existent – perhaps it attracts a different group of players? In the bingo rooms the chat was more entertaining in the cheap 75 ball games, as players discussed their favourite takeaway meals.

Our Verdict

I highly recommend Ladbrokes Bingo to any player because of its wide range of games and numerous players. The only slight negative was the trouble I experienced signing up, although that needn’t happen to you if you use a credit card.

Totesport Bingo started in September 2008, as is run by the legendary Tote. For those unfamiliar to sports betting, the Tote has hundreds of betting shops around Britain that offer fixed odds betting through its brand Totesport. The Tote organises betting into British track pools and there have been recent murmurings of a large scale takeover. We were keen to see how they would do at bingo, and whether they had made an impression within their opening few months.

Signing up was straight forward, which is what you’d expect from the brainchild of Winston Churchill. The address field is a doddle as all you need to do is input your postcode. After you enter in further contact details and the standard security question you are ready to deposit. Except I wasn’t because totesport needed to verify my age. I simply emailed them a copy of my passport and it was unlocked 2 hours later. Most bingo sites have a minimum deposit of £5, so totesport’s minimum of £10 is annoying, especially as I’ve had no chance to experiment with their product. Still, I suppose their 125% first deposit bonus isn’t too miserly.

The homepage is easy on the eye and is given a playful touch with Channel 4 characters Barry and Toni. They usually hang out at various racecourses, but totesport have recruited them in their bingo drive. The ‘news’ section is empty and the ‘promotions’ tab takes you into the casino. I’m sure that these are just teething problems that totesport will sort out in the near future. ‘Bingo Basics’ includes a FAQ and bingo lingo sections – essential reading for any newbies.

Playing Totesport Bingo

The bingo took slightly longer than expected to load up, and also requires you to sign in again. Perhaps I am being trivial, but these things can put you in the wrong frame of mind. I was shocked to see that (a) there was only 1 bingo room and (b) there were only 4 players in the afternoon.

The bingo itself is shambolic. I found the bingo console hard to navigate, slow and generally just a nightmare. I played a 30p game but it turned out you had to buy 2 cards for a total of 60p. However, you get another card free when you purchase 2 – not a great deal. Once I had bought more cards than I wanted to I couldn’t even find the game which I had so boldly entered. I tried again, incurring another 60p hit on the balance, but in vain. How can I review bingo and chat when I can’t even find it? Worse, they are taking my money!

Another problem with this site is that instead of telling you how long it is before a bingo game starts, it tells you the starting time. Totesport are wildly assuming that your computer’s clock is set to exactly to tote time.

I emailed totesport to ask about withdrawing bonus money, but the reply I got was most unhelpful. As well as actually tinkering with their bingo product they may want to improve their help service. If I’m not made to feel at ease I’ll withdraw my balance at the drop of a hat.

Our Verdict

Suffice to say that my affair with Totesport Bingo did not last long – I didn’t manage to succesfully play a bingo game. We will review the site again in 2 months’ time to see if they have made any improvements.

Signing up to Bingo Café is a bit long winded and slightly confusing as you have to download it first. Once I worked this out and I actually downloaded the bingo, it was easy to fund my account.  Simply click on “cashier” in the bottom left of your screen and it will bring up a few options for transferring money into your account.

You can also sign up to become a VIP.  The VIP status is based on deposits, wagering, time spent in the site, and feedback from the CMs. Anyone who gets upgraded to the VIP status will be notified by email at the start of every month.  If you become a VIP you get a lot of extra benefits such as up to 40% back on your purchases.

The homepage of the website is a very American design and probably could do with a bit of updating. When you click on “see full website” it is a little better as it looks a bit more inviting with comments from real players and information about games.  The design is still very cluttered and those of us used to most UK bingo websites could have problems with things even as simple as signing up.

Once you have downloaded the bingo and signed up your are taken to a 3D bingo lobby with your own avatar. From here all you have to do is click on the staircase so that your character move upstairs and choose to play bingo, slot machines, video poker or play in the casino.

If you like playing “Sims” you will love playing on Bingo Café. There is also a room with bingo slots called Mega Bingo. There’s a choice of 6 bingo rooms to play in, with huge jackpots and cheap tickets, so it’s a good place to play bingo. At 11.15am one of 90 ball bingo rooms had a £2874 jackpot and the tickets were 25p each.

Our Verdict

Even though the entire site needs a bit of updating and it is a bit a of a pain to sign up, it is a great place to play bingo. With a “Sims” like interface it makes it that bit more fun. The Cm’s and other players were very chatty and friendly.

Gala Bingo is a household name when it comes to bingo. There are currently 175 Gala Bingo Clubs throughout the UK, which equates to about 24% of the market. Their online operation is incredible – with a sensational 1.2 million active players. Gala merged with Coral in 2005, meaning that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Players who have an account with Coral bookmakers can also use it to play at Gala. Otherwise, signing up is simple enough. Just enter your username, password and postcode and let Gala do the rest. You may find, that your username has already been taken, which is what happened to me. Gala will suggest you a new one, or you can go back to the drawing board yourself. Depositing a fiver was easy enough, although it automatically went into my ‘Lotto account’. Nevertheless I transferred it into bingo money with a few clicks of the mouse.

I must admit that the homepage isn’t the cleanest and most innovative in the business. I have no qualms about the navigation – because tabs are all clearly presented down the left hand column. It was simply too flash and busy for my liking. However, you can find out about Gala Clubs near you and any other Gala promotions that are running at a particular time. As well as a radio campaign, Gala also have their own TV channel – Gala TV.

Gala TV is a bingo room that is only open during selected hours of the day – usually evening time. Gala TV before 6pm is automated, so I personally wouldn’t play Gala TV before then, even if Sharon Osbourne is calling the numbers. You can play using your remote control and heading over to Sky Channel 861. You can then log in with your Gala details, or sign up in case you haven’t already done so. It is worth noting that connected through your TV means that you will be charged at your local rate.

Alternatively, you can play Gala TV through your PC simply by choosing TV Bingo in the lobby. There is a television feed in the top right hand corner, broadcasting live games until 2am (real presenters included!). A great addition if you like your bingo to be live, but I’m fairly indifferent.

At Gala Bingo you can earn 2 Nectar points for every £1 spent on bingo. Nectar points are of no use to me, so I took a look at other promotions. The £20 free play bonus when you deposit £5 is magnificent value – especially when you win twice in your first 2 games at Gala. Gala use their own software which is refreshing, as most other sites share software. This means that there are a number of different font colours to choose from and animated 3/2/1 TG symbols in chat.

The CMs and customer support were very prompt and helpful, as I tried to get to grips with their 1TG bonus. That’s right, Gala will pay you 50p if you lose the 1 line, 2 line of full house prize by just one number. Great news for players who count themselves as unlucky! Gala Bingo ranks as on of the best sites we have reviewed. The great bonuses on offer, huge variety of side games and countless bingo rooms means that Gala is one of the best in the industry. Frankly you wouldn’t expect anything less from such an established brand.

Bingo Boudoir is yet another site that uses the Cassava bingo software, so I found it very simple to use. In case you weren’t sure, a ‘boudoir’ is a lady’s private room, usually used for entertaining, pampering or dressing. It comes from the French ‘to pout’ – which you can do at will whilst playing 90 and 75 ball bingo!

Singing up was very easy, and required address and credit card details. They also save you from entering in your address and name again once you reach the credit card details section, which save crucial bingo time. Bingo Boudoir advertise the no deposit bonus as 10 free bingo tickets, but there is nothing from stopping you buying 20 5p bingo tickets!

Call me cynical, but I found very little ‘boudoir’ about this site. However, the pink pastel colours are easy on the eye (the same cannot be said for other sites!) and I found it easy to navigate. Like most sites, there are tabs at the top to switch between different sections of the site, such as ‘support’ and ‘winners’. I found it slightly concerning that they were still advertising a Guy Fawkes promotion a week after Bonfire Night.

Playing Bingo Boudoir

The £1 bonus does actually give you plenty of opportunities to try out the site, although it is extremely unlikely that you’ll hit that jackpot with so few tickets! That said on a game of 75 ball bingo with a £30 jackpot, I bought only one ticket and got a very good run for my money. I had 1TG (41) for an agonizing amount of time, during which both 40 and 42 appeared. Needless to say I didn’t win the jackpot.

It is worth remembering that there are several chat rooms within each game, and it is definitely worth shopping around for the best and most chatters. It is great that they have a help chat room within each game, as this means that you can get your queries answered whilst playing bingo. Despite hunting for some juicy gossip, I couldn’t find much to get excited about.

I enjoyed my time in the Boudoir, and found the help chat room very useful. There is a good variety of bingo games during the daytime and I would consider depositing to try my luck in the £1million coverall games which take place 3 times a week.

Tombola operates one of the largest bingo sites out there, mainly thanks to the fact they used to be The Sun’s bingo operator and kept all the customers when The Sun switched to using Jackpot Joy’s software. Now they’ve gone it alone but they’re still huge with as many as 10,000 players a day on their bingo site.

From talking to other players, Tombola is a bit of a Marmite bingo site – you either love it or hate it. It has a huge range of rooms to choose from and there’s always someone to chat to but the sheer number of players means it is hard to make friends with regular roomies as everyone is always moving around. Amazingly there are no slot games at all on the site, which is good as it stops me losing all my money on them but is a shame because I like playing them when I don’t feel like a game of bingo.

When you play on the site for the first time the registration process is a bit confusing and long winded, especially if you don’t know anyone else who plays on the site or have a bonus code (I didn’t have either). Once registered you are taken to a home page full of information – it’s all a bit daunting and the tiny light blue text on a white background made it difficult to read about their latest promotions. But the main games are listed on the left hand side – these are 90, 80 and 75 ball bingo plus Bingo Lite, Cinco (basically bingo with cards), Battleships and Hamster Race. There is also currently a game called Carnival which you can play once a day for free and win up to £100.

Playing Tombola’s games

The actual games themselves are really well designed and easy to follow. Whoever has built this site has done a great job and because Tombola don’t run any other sites this is the only place to play them. You can always find a big jackpot room to play bingo in – I just found a game with 792 players and a full house jackpot of £480 for a 20p ticket at 11am! All the games have chat rooms and there are always plenty of people there, although I found the chat often didn’t have much depth to it with lots of 2tg and wdws but not much of people chatting about their lives. I guess that’s partly down to the CMing, which I thought was a bit low key. But perhaps that was just the games I played in.

Anyone who has seen their TV ad might have thought Tombola would be a bit odd – their ad is definitely one of the strangest bingo ads I have ever seen – but in fact it’s a great site.

Our verdict

At the moment they are offering tons of player promotions and added prize money in the rooms, partly to keep all the players from The Sun in their rooms rather than have them move over to the new site. That’s good for new players signing up and I’ll definitely be playing a lot more at Tombola in the next few months.

888ladies is operated by the Cassava Enterprises, part of the famous 888 Holdings group. Not surprisingly, it is targeted at females, although I’m sure some men are lurking in the rooms! Like other themed bingo sites it has proven very popular, and has great graphics and software. A particular highlight of 888ladies are the coverall jackpots, which can get as high as £888,888.

Signing Up

Signing up is relatively quick and worthwhile to ensure you receive your £10 bonus money. However, I didn’t like the fact that you have to give them your card details, even if you have no intention of depositing. I suppose it is just a ploy to get customers to freely deposit once they have run out of bonus funds. I will not be returning to 888ladies, and don’t like it that they have my credit card details.

Homepage

The homepage is well laid out, and simple to navigate. Not surprisingly given the predominantly female clientele, it has a pink theme. Use the tabs at the top to find out about latest winners and promotions. Current promos included a Bonfire Night weekend break giveaway. I particularly liked the ‘Ladies Lounge’ where you can read your horoscope and articles about the CMs.

Playing 888Ladies Bingo

888ladies offer both 75 and 90 ball bingo, which are both popular amongst users of the site. 90 ball bingo can be played for as little as 5p, although as with all sites the ticket price soon creeps up. The CMs are welcoming and the chat was friendly enough, although I often found myself switching chat rooms in order to find the chatty players. The numbers on 90 ball bingo are called out with catchy feminine phrases such as, ’46, luscious lips’ or ’19, drama queen’. The applause after the full house victory is also a fine touch.

Our Verdict

888ladies certainly ranks as one of the better bingo sites out there. The software and design is flawless and with plently of players, there are some great jackpots. Perhpaps the chat was lacking in depth somewhat, especially given that it is a niche site targeting only women. Nevertheless a decent bingo site and one to consider depositing.
