LONDON – 888, who acquired Wink Bingo at the end of 2009, has announced that their latest bingo offering is already contributing well to the group’s revenue and profit in 2010. 888 have also said that growth at the end of 2009 was driven by the highly popular 888 Ladies bingo site.

As well as the purchase of Wink Bingo, major successes for 888 include the new £5,000,000 Pot of Gold Bingo promotion and the prominently advertised £8,888,888 Pirates Millionaire free spin slot machine. Both of these promotions were launched along with UK television advertising campaigns.

The acquisition of Wink Bingo, completed on 31 December has helped to increase new customer sign up to 888′s offerings by 52 per cent in the first five weeks of 2010. Another figure which will please board members of 888 Group is that average daily operating income has seen a surge at the beginning of this year too with an increase of over 18 per cent compared to the final three months of 2009. The contribution to this from Wink Bingo and 888 Ladies has been highlighted in 888 Holdings’ financial figures for 2009 which were published today.

Part of 888 Group’s upturn in fortunes can be attributed to the intensive re-branding of the group’s core products. With a new look and feel and unified logos, 888′s sub brands can all link into one offering. The new sites were launched as 888casino, 888poker, 888sport and 888bingo. As a part of this re-branding process 888′s bingo offering was updated too and has 17 new quick play games and five new bingo jackpots.

One of 888′s partners, Kamay Holdings Ltd. has selected Dragonfish as its bingo partner to launch Silk Bingo. Silk Bingo will join the Dragonfish bingo network alongside more than 60 other bingo brands.

Gigi Levy, CEO of 888 said, “Our positive momentum continues into 2010 and, supported by our successful Wink acquisition and our various business initiatives, we expect to grow the business further during the current year.”

Online game show pioneer Amuso has joined forces with gaming operator, Cashball Ltd. and Sweden’s gaming technology provider, NYX Interactive AB, to create a new bingo experience for the UK.

The three companies have formed an alliance so they can use all their expertise and industry knowledge to create a major competitor in the UK online bingo and gaming market. Together, they are creating a gaming network with a bingo suite, quiz games and casino all in one place. Steve Cook at NYX Interactive, said “The tie up between the three companies is significant because, in partnership Amuso and NYX can provide a strong portfolio of games while Cashball Ltd. will provide operations and support.”

Once the network is up and running (within the first three months of this year) players will be able to play all their favourite bingo games as well as many major TV quiz show branded products. Several deals are in the pipeline to attract major TV production companies to bring popular quiz show formats to the network, giving bingo players a completely new level of gaming experience and choice. Co-founder of Amuso, Barak Rabinowitz said, “We are thrilled to partner NYX and Cashball Ltd. to bring a fresh and compelling offering to a highly competitive market.”

Amuso is the only company of the three that is established in the UK market. It currently operates cash trivia games on various media sites and social networking sites.

For the chosen gaming operator, Cashball Ltd. it will be the first foray into the UK market with a Cashball branded network. NYX Interactive is also breaking into the UK online bingo and gaming market and hopes that it will lead to future expansion into Europe and beyond.
