Texas bingo revenues announced

Texas charitable bingo raised $6.1 million for states and local city and county coffers in the third quarter of 2008, according to information released by the Texas Lottery Commission.

Cities and counties received $2.9 million while the Charitable Bingo Operations Division allocated $3.2
million to the state’s General Revenue Fund.

The $6.1 million figure was down 2.8 per cent on the second quarter of 2008 and represents a 0.7 per cent year-on-year fall. Money is collected from the 1,165 charitable bingo operators across Texas.

The City of San Antonio received the highest allocation at $210,992.34, followed by Corpus Christi with $80,913.92, Fort Worth with $73,699.34, Lubbock with $72,332.77 and Austin with $64,579.86.
