LONDON, U.K. – Bingo software provider Playtech has announced that its revenue between April 1st and June 30th (Q2) of this year is up by two per cent on the previous quarter thanks to strong growth in bingo and casino revenues. It added that poker had seen a marked downturn in this time.
Playtech, based in the Baltic state of Estonia and one of the biggest companies in London’s junior market AIM, said that revenue in the second quarter of 2010 totalled €44.5 million. This is a huge increase of 34 per cent over the same period last year.
Revenue from bingo totalled €2.8million, a sharp increase of 61 per cent on the previous quarter, thanks to the increased contribution from Virtue Fusion, acquired recently by Playtech.
Playtech operate many of the leading online bingo sites in the UK market such as Foxy Bingo, William Hill and Ruby Bingo.
Playtech also remarked in their report that the World Cup reduced activity on its sites but traffic was returning after the competition ended.
One of the major highlights for Playtech, highlighted in a press release were the fact that their Italian bingo commitment with Sisal has already achieved an 18 per cent market share. Playtech and Virtue Fusion also gained industry awards for best bingo software.
