Several well known online bingo sites operating on the St Minver network have been given notice that they will be closed down from November 14.
The sites that will be closed include BingoBingo.co.uk, Club 2000, Busy Bingo, Paparazzi Bingo, Bab Bingo and Deluxe Bingo. Another site, Cosmos Bingo, will be transferred to the Better Bingo Network from Friday morning.
St Minver were recently taken over by GTech, an American gaming company, and have been merged with Boss Media, who provide casino and poker software, and Finsoft, who provide a sports betting software platform to operators.
Bingo News understands that the sites that have been told they will close were failing to make the monthly minimum profits stated in their contract with St Minver.
Leigh Nissim, managing director of St Minver UK, told Bingo News: “We have found from our four years’ experience of operating online bingo sites in Europe that the market has become increasingly competitive and saturated, to the point that any online bingo site needs to have wide distribution or substantial marketing budgets to succeed and grow.
“As a white label provider of bingo sites to some fantastic brands, we find ourselves in the challenging position of delivering the high expectations of our larger corporate customers, whilst catering for bingo players who are presented with more choice than ever before.
“It is for that reason that we have decided to focus our efforts and innovation on customers who continue to show strong growth in this competitive environment.”
One St Minver client, who asked not to be named, said that he had little notice of the decision to close: “It’s not like they have been warning us for months that we needed to improve our performance. The decision has basically come out of the blue. They are within their rights under the contract to terminate the agreement but personally I don’t like how it has been done.”
