The Helping Hands Charity Bingo Hall in Walker County, Alabama was closed with immediate effect by a judge who ruled that it was breaking the law.
Judge Robert Vance said that it had not complied with state laws which limited the opening times of bingo halls and the number of sessions that could be played each week.
The closure is likely to lead to several more bingo halls being closed in the next few weeks in Walker County. Last week Judge Vance ruled that eight bingo halls in Alabama appeared to be in breach of state laws.
The hall was shut down on Monday morning with electronic bingo licensors removing equipment from the building shortly before the ruling, no doubt to ensure that it could not be seized as part of a closure order.
The Helping Handsa Bingo Hall was at 38 Cable Station Rd, Jasper, AL 35501.
